1. Woody Head Campground - Bundjalong National Park

One of our top picks for a camping trip in Northern NSW is the Woody Head Campground in Bundjalong National Park. This beautiful campground accommodates both caravans and tents and is definitely not ‘roughing it’; with paved roads, padded tent sites, hot showers, drinking water, a kiosk, toilets and barbecues on site. If you are after a campsite with some comfort, this is definitely a good choice. This said, the park is within Bundjalong national park, the rocky shore and ocean surrounding the sites is excellent and feels untouched by humans – great for some fishing and if there’s swell maybe even surfing. Note that the sites are not very shaded or private. If you’re planning on camping here, we would recommend taking a gazebo, such as the Oztrail Deluxe Gazebo for some added shade, especially in the hotter months.
