Landcruiser Mountain Park is a campground in Kingaham, about 2 hours north of Brisbane. Land Cruiser Mountain Park is a 10,000 acre Wilderness Camping and 4wd Park less than 2 hours from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Bellthorpe National Park is located West of the Glass House Mountains, at the southern end of the Conondale Range, about 85 km (or 90 min drive) north-west of Brisbane.
This rugged national park features open eucalypt forest, rainforest, and cascades, along the picturesque Stony Creek. Remnants of an old and interesting timber sawmill can still be explored on West Bellthorpe Road too. Branch Creek Road offers an easy to moderate and super picturesque 4WD track as it winds up through the middle of the park.
3. Sundown National Park

Sundown National Park is a great national park located on the Queensland, New South Wales border, 250 km south-west of Brisbane via Stanthorpe and 70 km north-west of Tenterfield. Sundown is a rugged wilderness area of spectacular sharp ridges and steep-sided gorges. The Severn River and its tributaries, woodland birds and remains of pastoral and mining heritage can be discovered via maintained walking tracks, challenging remote walks or the excellent (and relatively easy) 4wd tracks.

There are a range of sand tracks that weave their way through the Old Pine Forest and bushland near Brown Lake, Main Beach, and Flinders Beach. These 4wd tracks are mostly easy in level but can become difficult to impassable depending on the weather.
5. Double Island Point

Double Island Point is hidden away in the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park and the Great Sandy Biosphere, Double Island Point is not an island, but a long sand spit with a pair of large sand dunes which, from a distance, appear to be separated by the sea.
Double Island Point can be reached two to three hours either side of low tide from either Rainbow Beach or Noosa along the Great Beach Drive. You will need a 4wd, and the Great Beach Drive makes for excellent and easy 4wding. You’ll also need to buy a beach driving permit online from Queensland Parks before you leave and check the tide times carefully because the beach isn’t accessible at high tide. There are no facilities at Double Island Point so you’ll pack your own food and drinks.
